Looking for a place to settle your mind or enjoy the scenery? Bruce's Beach is located on Highland Avenue north of the Manhattan Beach Pier. Previously a quaint beach resort in the early 1900's, Bruce's Beach is known for being one of the very few beaches in Southern California that was not off-limits to African Americans during that time. Between 1920-1930 the city had condemned Bruce's Beach and forced out the black community. But in March of 2007, the public celebrated bringing back it's original name and honoring the site as it once was.
This scenic park is not only special for the story of it's past but also for its tranquility and the view. This is the perfect spot for a solo adventure or a picnic with friends and family.
